Fast & Furious Crossroads is being pulled from sale forver

Fast & Furious Crossroads will soon be removed from digital storefronts forever, less than two years since the game’s launch.

You have until April 29, 2022, to purchase a copy of the movie-themed racer from the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and Steam. After this date, Fast & Furious Crossroads will be pulled from sale forever, along with all associated DLC.

Of course, you can still get your hands on a physical disc copy for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Although these versions of Crossroads will still work, don’t expect any additional support from Bandai Namco and Slightly Mad Studios.

If you’re keen to get it added to your digital library, it’s currently available for £39.99 via Steam / £34.99 via the PlayStation Store / £54.99 via the Xbox Store – or you can buy it on-disc for around £10, second-hand.

The reason for Fast & Furious Crossroads being delisted isn’t noted in this announcement. However, this is likely due to the expiry of licenses for music, vehicles, and actor likenesses. Similar vehicle licensing issues typically mean that Forza games get delisted a few years after their initial release.

Once gone, we doubt Crossroads will be truly missed. In our review, former resident racing expert Thomas slapped a measly 2/10 on the movie tie-in:

Fast & Furious Crossroads is a melting pot of ideas, none of which have had time to mature. Poor vehicle handling, weird pacing, unloved online multiplayer, inconsistent visuals, the list goes on. All of those Facebook comments lambasting the trailer for ‘PS2-era graphics’ are wide of the mark. It’s PS2-era physics, dialogue and level design too.

Despite having some big names attached to the project – including Project Cars developer, Slightly Mad, and actors Vin Diesel, and Michelle Rodriguez – the game turned out to be a car crash. A new game in the series released at the end of 2021 though Fast & Fruious: Spy Racers seemingly flew under the radar.
